THE VELVETY LIQUID LIPSTICK.
Lime Crime has released several cult-favorites since they first launched. However Lime Crime’s Cashmere remains the all-time top coveted color. They are set to release 3 new shades soon which are Squash and Jinx along with Trouble (which hasn’t been officially announced yet however was caught on the site briefly before being taken down).
THE CONTROVERSIAL LIQUID LIPSTICK.
I had already posted my thoughts regarding Lime Crime on my older blog at Blogspot. You can read it here: My Thoughts Regarding Lime Crime. You hear very little in the way of something positive in regards to the company as there still are groups and other various coalitions that are still seeking to dismantle the brand. Regardless there is a fan base for the product. And Lime Crime has done much to improve it’s customer service, mail delivery and interactions with people on social media. With that being said, I wanted to share an anecdotal regarding how much Lime Crime has changed. I had an Instagram follower who told me they were blocked by Lime Crime on Twitter. They hadn’t used it in a while and of course it had perplexed both of us. Nevertheless the person purchased their products and liked them. I offered to help and sent an email to Customer Service. I have to say that they were the most highly responsive team you could find. They unblocked the account.
FORMULA: True liquid; heavenly cake-scented; opaque; saturated; dries quickly.
BRUSH: Soft angled brush that needs to be dipped couple of times before achieving full coverage as the liquid is concentrated on the tip.
FINISH: Velvety smooth and you do get the benefit of smoother feel on the lips after removal.
WEAR: Long-wearing however not transfer-proof and eating greasy food will break it down. I’ve worn the liquid lippies for 5 hours straight at a time and still the color was as if freshly applied. Some colors do leave a stain.
CONTROVERSY: There is controversy. There was the security breach and most recently the FDA warning letter for ‘unsafe’ lipstick ingredients. Too much of it though is centered around the CEO, Doe Deere. I won’t go into any of it here as there is a plethora of gossip online regarding this. I still support the brand because I love the product and it works for me. I even went as far as to sleep with Red Velvet on and Utopia (my lips felt very soft in the morning). I never experienced any allergic reactions with any of their products. I always tell people they are consumers in a free market and being so enables you to shop wherever you want.
PRODUCTS: are made in the USA with a net weight of 0.088 fl oz/2.6ml of product.
COLORS: released in their collection are the ones that are most duped and copied by competing brands.
So while Lime Crime cannot change it’s past, it certainly is making changes for the better.
