Happy Birthday to me!
I celebrated by treating myself to a Chanel fragrance. I have always loved No. 5 and worn Allure, etc. but I decided on getting Coco Noir. I love the deep, classy perfumes that have that “noir” tag on their name like Tom Ford Noir and Marc Jacobs Mod Noir.
This perfume came out in 2012 created by perfumer Jacques Polge. The Top Notes consist of: Grapefruit and Bergamot which you pick up on right away when the perfume spray hits the skin. Quickly followed by hints of the Heart Notes: Rose, Jasmine and Indonesian Patchouli. Finally when it does dry down, you get the Base Notes of Sandalwood, Brazilian Tonka Bean and White Musk. So gorgeous!
I’ve heard chatter that this is like Miss Dior. This is definitely not Miss Dior. I can’t wear that at all. Coco Noir is strikingly rich with Rose & Sandalwood being dominant for me almost soapy after the top notes leave. Probably why I like it. It’s intense but refreshing. I’ve been wearing it during the day but only in small amounts on my wrists and decolleté. It’s definitely a special occasion, evening-type fragrance than something you’d spray on at 7am.
It was hard choosing, honestly Chanel makes wonderful timeless perfumes but this one is a keeper. Until next time… Stay Sweet Lovelies!
