Lime Crime released five new Velvetines inspired by the hues of life on a prairie. I took my time wearing these and I must say they all are lovely colors and perform very well. My fave out of the bunch would be the pinky beige “Prairie” color. It did not come off for several hours. Of course it’s the performance I expect since when I used to work retail, I would wear Velvetines as they would not budge for up to 6 hours. They’re also so lightweight that you forget you’re wearing anything and no cracking or peeling either. I’ve been wearing Velvetines since they came out, they’re a product that has performed well for me plus my lips always feel softer afterwards. And let’s not forget the dreamy cupcake scent. Bonus!
- Prairie: dusky nude
- Wisteria: dusty lilac
- Thistle: grungy grey-blue
- Rustic: earthy red
- Saddle: rusty brown
All of my swatch pics are just 1-swipe straight out-of-the-tube. Pretty pigmented as you can see. And they don’t dry super fast necessarily. You can see some areas are still drying down in my photos…need more patience waiting 🙂 But when they dry down and set, you’re ready to go. And as with every liquid lipstick, eating oily foods will break down the product.
They’re currently being sold as a bundle for $75. Keep your eyes peeled on Lime Crime’s social media and/or get on their mailing list because they do have specials popping up often. I missed the Tuesday freebie Superfoil with purchase of $65 or more. I was bummed about that but if you can’t decide on which color, just get the one you wear the most. Of course if you have older Velvetines, some of these might look like the ones with only slight variations. I talking about you Saddle=Salem+Shroom and Rustic=Pumpkin+Wicked and Thistle=Peacock and Teacup. But if you don’t have any LC, this is a great intro pack to their line. Makes for a great gift too.
Until next time, giddy-up rawhide, yee-haw!
Stay Sweet Lovelies!
