It’s been a while and I’m back. I’ve been meaning to post about this skin care line I’ve been happily loving for some time now. Story goes, I was looking to switch up my cleansers and wanted something new. I had just finished my Lancome and didn’t want to go back to a Mac cleanser even tho I still love their charcoal scrub. So I lingered for a bit longer at Ulta in the skin care aisle and happened upon Skinfood. They were having a sale so I initially picked up two cleansers. I love anything that has natural ingredients or I’d be making stuff in the kitchen for myself!
So who is Skinfood and what is their schtick? They are a Korean cosmetic brand specializing in products for skin care, body & hair and makeup since 1957. Their motto is ” You are what you eat. Healthy skin starts with food.” Their food line-up consists of:
- black sugar
- royal honey
- lettuce & cucumber
- egg white
- peach sake
- miracle food 10
- fresh apple
- gold caviar
- bitter green
Quite a line-up, eh? Yup this is definitely up my natural ingredients alley. Onto the cleansers!
Rice Brightening Scrub Foam…$14
I use a daily scrub for my face in the shower. The Rice Brightening Scrub Foam is perfect because it’s so gentle and foams up nicely. You don’t need much either to get a good cleanse. These tubes have lasted me a few months now. It’s made from rice bran water from the Cheorwon region in Korea. The scrub foam also has honey, quinoa, lentil, blueberry, yogurt and aloe ingredients. My skin is also refreshed after using it. Great for those who have a dull complexion and sensitive skin. The benefits of rice bran is that it has vitamin E and fatty acids that go deep into the skin to hydrate and soothe.
Tea Tree Fresh Cleansing Foam..$12
The second cleanser I picked up since it was a BOGO was the Tea Tree Fresh Cleansing Foam. Tea Tree has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. I used to have occasional breakouts, now I have consistently clear skin without any drying. This cleansing foam also has witch hazel, willow bark, chamomile, aloe, soybean and licorice ingredients. I use it at the end of the day to wash off my makeup. This is a great product for those who have acne skin concerns. You’ll notice the difference in the first wash but it will take a while for your face to clear up. Drink plenty of water and take your vitamins!
Both of these cleansers are naturally scented. The scent comes from the natural ingredients and is very light. I had to explore the line some more and got two additional cleansers.
Egg White Pore Foam…$11
The Egg White Pore Foam cleanser promises to firm skin and minimize pores. The main ingredient is egg white. I was excited about this as who hasn’t done an egg mask? Eggs have protein, amino acids and vitamins and does tighten the skin. The pore foam has additional benefits of olive fruit oil, sesame seed, chamomile, licorice, soybean and other extracts. This is great skin cleanser for those with combination skin and pore concerns. Very gentle and leaves skin glowing!
Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam…$14
OMG. Yes I saved the best for last. This Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam is so gentle and lathers up creamy. It’s main ingredient is black sugar granules. Not only does it exfoliate but it moisturizes while cleansing. Sugar is a natural exfoliant and a natural humectant meaning it’s gentle while drawing moisture into the skin. This scrub foam has the added benefits of apple, lemon, orange, papaya and sake! Great for those who have flaky skin, blackheads, dull and oily complexions. Your face will feel smooth and very refreshed. This has a wonderful lemon scent. Oh and make sure you extend your cleanser down to your neck (if in the shower).
FYI: All Skinfood products are double-sealed meaning the opening of the tube has a peel-off foil seal and each tube is shrink-wrapped. Guaranteed to be super fresh!
While I found my Skinfood products at Ulta, the Skinfood site (https://theskinfood.us) has their entire collection and is well worth a look!
Now I need to try their Almond Milk Rich Foot Cream and Coffee Body Scrub!
I can smell it now…
