all about the lippie, lifestyle & more

I hardly post about eyeshadow palettes on my blog. I feel like it’s such a laborious process to do swatches when there are tons of swatches out there. Probably also cuz I’m conserving my eyeshadows for my eyes and not my arms at least the real pricey ones. πŸ˜€

But I finally dipped into this palette. I like it. But it doesn’t have enough purple in it. So I’m on a quest to find an all purple palette that does the job. This palette is beautiful. It does a brilliant job on the eyes but the neutrals do dominate. I got it because it reminded me of my prom palette (A Dior which I still have somewhere). I remember the mua transforming my eyes with purple and pink shadows.

Here’s a closer look.

Bad Habit Beauty recently came out with their knockoff of this palette. I won’t be getting it since I have the OG obviously. I think they make great quality knockoffs. I’ve gotten several. As for this one, I will keep trying out new looks.

Are you crazy for purple?

UPDATE: here’s the reimagined Norvina palette. No idea who did this but it looks nice πŸ‘πŸ½

  1. I have this palette and I have to agree with you; it’s very beautiful but the colors are neither here nor there. I wish that it would’ve been all shimmers with unusual, unicorn colors. The matters in this palette don’t really make sense (to me) nor do they go with the shimmer colors. I don’t regret my purchase, but I won’t be rebuying this palette once I hit pan.

    1. It’s predominantly a neutral-warm palette with accents of pink and purple being that the look I get is warm as the purples fade on me, they don’t pop. The shimmer pink works well so I get more of a Huda rose palette vibe. The mattes appear to be similar to previous palettes where they’re meant to create that warm orangey crease look before you cut the crease. At least that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m going to attempt to do a more purple/cool look but that β€œbase” color just disappears on me. She put a purple velvet cover on this palette but it’s not purple dominant. Someone did a re-design of the palette and even that looks way better (I posted it on my Instagram) and more exciting. Might wind up getting the new Huda or the new Smashbox. You’d be surprised as there are not that many all purple palettes out there!

      1. For me, on my complexion, the neutral colors just disappear. They’re not deep enough for crease depth nor light enough for transition shades. I use base sometimes as a color and sometimes as a base so that the pinks and purples come out more vibrantly. You’re rightβ€”it’s not purple dominant (it’s actually rather gold dominant, lol)!
